Well, SAS isn't marketed (or, typically, sold) to consumers.
Note that the response doesn't say that SAS 9 won't run under Windows
XP, only that it's not supported. There have been varying reports on
SAS-L regarding whether it will actually install and run. Perhaps it
varies by SAS sub-release and XP service pack level.

This is the response I got from SAS. It does seem strange that they
ignore some many home PCs.
