The following is the transcription of the Georgia Rare Bird Alert
(RBA) Friday evening telephone report, November 19, 2004. The
RBA is a service of the Georgia Ornithological Society. Jeff Sewell
is the voice of the RBA.
The last report was on November 16, 2004.
The THAYER'S GULL reported by Eric and Michael Beohm last Friday
was seen again today by Michael and Walt Chambers at the West Point Lake Dam.
The bird was seen below the dam and photographed.

Directions: Take I-85 South from the Atlanta area towards Columbus,
continue exit 2, Take GA18 to the 2nd traffic light and turn right on to
Hiway 29 towards LaGrange, in about 3 miles you will see the entrance
to the West Point Dam on your left. The dam road is not open until 8am
but the parking area before the dam road is open earlier. The bird was
seen from the viewing area below the dam.
A White-winged Dove was seen again at the home Marjorie Clark on
Jekyll Island. She also reported that a visiting birder reported seeing
a Snow Goose on the soccer fields and a Western Kingbird on the
causeway.
