Subject: Great Horned Owl pair calling
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

We listened to a pair of Great Horned Owls calling back and forth in the distance last night from 2:30 to 3:30 a.m., until we fell back to sleep.

This is the time of year we often hear them - once heard them calling on Christmas Day.

I opened the door to hear them better. One was more distant than the other, and they were calling with little pause, often overlapping one another. It was a wonderful treat on a cold winter night.
