Hi,

Thanks everyone for the replies via post and email!

My friend is an engineer who does some statistics on the job. That is how we got talking about it. He said he would like to learn SAS, get certification, and get a different job. I am going to ask him more details about that. I feel like I need to flush out exactly what he wants and to see what is possible. What kind of job exactly does he want, etc. And is it likely he can get a job after learning SAS, but not having used SAS on any job.

Anyway... I have a copy of The Little SAS book, and some other basic books. He asked about the Learning Edition. I see there is a book "SAS Certification Prep Guide: Base Programming" which looks helpful... EM
