I don't know of anything that automatically ships with z/OS, but Computer Associates' PDSMAN can do exactly what you're looking for.

I am looking for a mainframe BigIron MVS z/OS utility that will return a list of PDS (Partitioned Data Set) members with the associated DateCreated, DateChanged and UserId information for each member.

I have PDSlist from the SAS Sample Library SAS.R912.SAMPLE(PDSLIST) which provides a list of members, but not the Dates and Userid I am seeking.

expected output, to be written to a PDS(member) this is a cut&paste from the ISPF I.3.4 browser:

Name Prompt Size Created Changed ID ##USEALL 185 2004/12/13 2004/12/13 11:26:30 RJF2 #EXPORT 5 2004/12/13 2004/12/21 17:19:16 RJF2 #EXP2PDS 5 2004/12/13 2004/12/13 10:59:08 RJF2 #FILL 4 2004/12/13 2004/12/13 14:51:01 RJF2

I had a TechSupport ticket on this but they gave up doing it in SAS. so any utility will do: MVS system utilities, CLIST, REXX, etc.

thanx Ron Fehd the very occasional BigIron maven CDC Atlanta GA USA RJF2 at cdc dot gov
