Subject: PROC SURVEYFREQ

Does anyone have any ideas on how to make PROC SURVEYFREQ run more quickly and efficiently? It seems to use an extraordinary amount of CPU and disk space, even with relatively small data sets. I've tried adjusting the SUMSIZE parameter as several have suggested, but every adjustment I tried made it worse! The procedure takes hours to run (if it runs at all) when I try to include more than two or three variables at a a time in the TABLES statement.

Thanks in advance, Dave Dorsky
