This one really does not need an Expert level, Ralf :-)
RECODE a1 to a10 (CONVERT) into b1 to b10 .
....of course both lists containing the same number of variables.
Have a nice weekend

Subject: String to numeric for many vars at once
Dear Experts,
How can one change the format from string to numeric FOR MANY VARIABLES
AT ONCE?
For ONLY ONE var the command would be:
RECODE var_a (CONVERT) into var_b.
Thanks in advance!
Ralf
