Hi,

My name is Agnes (A PhD student) and I have been using SPSS since late 2004. So, I am quite new to this software

The reason why I am writing to you is, that I need your help or advise on how to run a model in SPSS. I have been reading the SPSS manual for some time and I am simply lost. There are so many regressions and I don't know which one is right one for me. I have been struggling with this for some time and if I am honest with you, it gives me a huge headache. Thus, I decided to contact all of you for some help.Please help.

I tying to test my hypothesis in the model where the dependent variable is a region and the independent variables are the reasons for investing in that region. This will allow me to see which of the factors, used in the model, will have a significant impact on the decision whether to invest in that region or not.

I would like to run a model (i.e. a very simple version at this moment and time) such as:

REGi = X1 + X1 + X3

where: N = 60

REG= a region (there are 16 regions, i = 1...16)

X1 = labor (0=not sure; 1=not important; 2=some importance; 3=fairly important; 4=very important; 5=extremely important)

X2= R&D (0=not sure; 1=not important; 2=some importance; 3=fairly important; 4=very important; 5=extremely important)

X3 = transportation costs (0=not sure; 1=not important; 2=some importance; 3=fairly important; 4=very important; 5=extremely important)

WHAT is the best way to run (i.e. test ) the model in SPSS?Is it the Multinomial Logic Regression, the Logic Regression or maybe the Ordinal Regression?I am so confused

How do I enter the variables from the model in SPSS?

I will appreciate your help.

Agnes
