Subject:   importing SPSS data into HLM
Content-Type:   text/plain; charset=us-ascii

I am having a problem importing an SPSS (version 13) sav file into HLM version 5.01. When I follow the manual instructions to create a two-level model, choose my variables for the level-1 and level-2 models, gave a name to, and save, the ssm and response matrices, I then press the button to make an ssm matrix. When I do that I receive an error message saying: sssm file Files/HLM2.EXE does not exist. Enter new file name: However, I do have an HLM2.EXE file. Does anyone have suggestions as to what might be going wrong, and how to fix it? David Greenberg, Sociology Department, New York University
