In my experience with UltraEdit this message relates to your settings of how often you want to write backups: every X time periods

living in thunderstorm country I have my autobackup set to every four minutes.

This message indicates that two processes are handling the file: obviously your "Enhanced Editor" is one of them. Check for: * another process (text editor) on your machine having the file open * another person accessing a file via LAN, etc.
