Subject: SAS Viewer 9.1 Problem (Registered Files)
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"
I used to have SAS 8 on my stand-alone PC system using XP Pro. Then I
was upgraded to SAS 9.1. However, we had kept SAS 8 on my system to
play it safe until we were sure that 9.1 was ok. (I'm a telecommuter
and couldn't risk being down for an extended period of time). After a
few weeks, we then decided to uninstall SAS 8 and go completely with
9.1.
Now I've lost the ability to double click on files under Windows
Explorer and automatically pull them up under the viewer. i.e. I lost
the link that showed what application they're registered to. I've
tried going under Windows Explorer and right clicking on the file to
choose "Opens With" and point it to the Viewer (C:\Program
Files\SAS\SAS System Viewer\9.1.2\sv.exe). However, when I chose this
application, Windows seems to ignore it and doesn't choose anything.
Not sure why.
So right now I just pull up the viewer first and then select the file.
....but I'd really love to have it working like it was before. Any
ideas? TIA.
