Subject:      Re: Amaea tosaensis (Epitoniidae)
Content-Type: multipart/alternative;

There are two species here. Fragiliscala tosaensis Azuma, 1962 is currently placed in the genus Gyroscala by Nakayama. It is the type species of the subgenus Fragiliscala Azuma, 1962.

The other is the unrelated Clathroscala tosaensis Habe & Masuda, 1990 (ex Kuroda MS). This species was incorrectly attributed to Habe & Noguchi by Nakayama who treats Clathroscala as a subgenus of Amaea.

Hope this help.

Dick Petit
