Subject:   transform graphs

a) Can anyone explain why the Transform menu (SPSS 13) is not activated when I wish to convert the defualt output line graphs to a bar (or other) graph? Caveats: 1) When I apply a chart template, then the Transform menu does activate and allows me to convert the graph. 2) However, sometimes when I apply a chart template it destroys the graph and leaves an empty space and red message instead in the output file.

b) how can I get the "error bar" icon or heading to activate?

c) how can I change categorical measures in a bargraph (in SPSS 11 it was called 'transpose', I believe, but in SPSS 13 "transpose" merely makes the bars horizontal).

Thanks, Micah
