Subject:      Reference Category for Categorical Vars in NOMREG

Does anyone know if there is a way to choose what coefficient estimate is
set to zero for the multinomial logistic regression function?  I know how
to control the reference for the dependent variable, but I am unable to
find anything discussing the independent categorical variables.  I can
always recode them to fit what the default syntax seems to be, but it
seems to me there has to be an easier way.
