For categorical variables you can order a FREQUENCIES, where you would get the frequency of each category in addition to other data. You can add the /STATISTICS keyword for additional information if some of it is desired. For interval variables you can use the DESCRIPTIVES command with the /STATISTICS command explicitly naming the summary measures you want (minimum and maximum value, range length, sum, mean, std deviation and more). You may probably want to edit the output (possibly after copying and pasting into Excel) to suit your purposes.
