I don't know what type of tuning would be necessary.

The key is for the SAS/Intrnet dispatched program ( ie. the thing the user initiated by clicking some "submit" button ) to create a -batch-- SAS session ( using the X command ) on the server to run the log running program and then come back with a page saying "Okay, job is launched, go have lunch".

Dear SAS-L,

We are using SAS IntrNet Processing with one of our web applications. Some of these web apps are taking a long time to process (30+ min.). We usually get CGI timeout errors.

I was wondering if anyone has tried to set up their SAS jobs so that the web app launches the SAS job, and then walks away from the processing? They do not need to have results come back to the web page. We would like to see the web app launch the SAS batch job, pop up a box that says, "OK, job is launched. Come back later to your results area for your output. Click "Exit" to close this box." And that is all.

If you have done any of this type of SAS IntrNet batch processing, how did you tune your SAS broker.exe to get these type of results?

Thank you for your replies.
