Visited the above two locations this am, partially birding with Mike Mettler
(sp?), whom I encountered at the latter location.
Fite Bend Rd nr Resaca
RUSTY BLACKBIRD - 7+ with C Grackles and BH Cowbirds next to the rd in the
residential section
COLLARED DOVE - many, also in nearby parts of Resaca
AMERICAN PIPIT - a few 10s at least
YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER
AMERICAN KESTREL - 1
also a brief fly-by possible Merlin
Carters Lake
Lots of sparrows on/below the reregulation dam - SONG SPARROW, SAVANNAH
SPARROW (on dam), SWAMP SPARROW, FIELD SPARROW, WHITE-THROATED SPARROW, SLATE-
COLORED JUNCO (CHIPPING SPARROWS also on route to power house)
Also many of both KINGLET sp, several YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKERS, HOUSE WREN on
songbird trail below rereg dam
On/over lake from rereg dam:
2 DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANT, m+f GADWALL, 1 PIED-BILLED GREBE, f HOODED
MERGANSER, 4 RING-BILLED GULLS, sev GREAT BLUE HERONS, imm BALD EAGLE
Rd to powerho:
2 RED-HEADED WOODPECKERS, yet more YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKERS
