There was a presentation at this year's WUSS that dealt with ways to get non-SAS-friendly web-based data into SAS. I'm pretty sure cURL was one of several tools that was mentioned. Taking a look at the proceedings might be helpful, though I cleverly don't have a copy with me at the moment.
