Michael Beohm and I were visiting relatives near Columbus today. He suggested we check Lake Walter F. George since we happened to be nearby. Since I haven't scanned a lake in some time, I jumped at the chance, though I wasn't sure if we would have enough time to really find anything. We weren't disappointed. It didn't take long to find a RED-NECKED GREBE near the dam. We first saw it on the Georgia side though it eventually drifted into Alabama waters. I attempted some photos and if any of them turn out, I will put them on my website.
