Subject: Field Trip at Clyde Shepherd Nature Preserve - April 15
Jeff Madsen will lead an Atlanta Audubon Society field trip at Clyde
Shepherd Nature Preserve in DeKalb County on Saturday April 15 at 8:00 AM.
CSNP is a 28-acre nature preserve in the Medlock Park neighborhood of
Decatur containing a beaver pond, wetlands, and upland forest. Over 175
species of birds have visited the preserve along with beavers, river otters,
deer, foxes, reptiles and amphibians. Some trails may be muddy so wear
boots or appropriate shoes.
Directions: From I-285, Take highway 78, Stone Mt. Freeway exit west toward
Decatur - Hwy 78 passes North Dekalb Mall and continues up hill past Lou
Sobh Ford - At intersection of Hwy 78, North Decatur Road, and Medlock Road,
take right on Medlock Road - Follow Medlock Road .25 mile to Medlock
Elementary School; go right on Wood Trail Lane - Go through 1 stop sign;
travel another 200 yards to Preserve entrance.
