| Subject: | Clyde Shepherd Nature Preserve Sunday April 2 |
Sunday was a beautiful day with clear skies and lots of bird activity early.
The red-shouldered hawks were sitting on their nest in a pine tree north of
the preserve entrance. If this is the same pair, they have fledged five
young over the last two years. This is a new nest site this year. The
barred owl female was being mobbed by blue jays and we are keeping our eyes
open for owlets.
Sunday list:
Six blue-winged teal on the pond
Barred owl
Red-shouldered hawks
Blue gray gnatcatcher
Belted kingfisher
Ruby crowned kinglets
Fish crow
American crow
Great blue heron
Eastern towhee
Canada geese
White-throated sparrow
Rough-winged swallow
Carolina chickadee
Northern cardinal
Blue jay
Pine warbler
