Hello list,

Maybe I do something wrong, but often I can't get the right datafile active without syntax.

1 I start SPSS (v 14.0.2 by the way)

2 I open data file 1

3 I open a syntax file

4 I open data file 2

Data file 2 now becomes the active file (marked with the green cross)

5 Now I click on data file 2 to make it active. The green mark suggests that everyting is ok.

6 To make the syntax window visible I click on it. Now the green mark moves to data file 1.

While replicating this problem I noticed that it is solved if I minimize the syntax window and maximize it immediately thereafter.

By the way: it should be nice if in future releases SPSS could stay open with NO data file open. Just close the data file and keep SPSS open.

Regards

Antoon Smulders
