Maybe i'm just not understanding your words, but how can 2250 persons go on sick leave out when the workforce numbers 1600 persons? > Year number of sick leave number of employees > 2000 1200 5000 > 2001 1200 3000 > 2002 3200 4000 > 2003 3200 3000 > 2004 2250 1600

Might you mean that there were 2250 sick leave episodes for a workforce of 1600? Maybe many persons had no sick leave episodes while some had several.
