Alan Agresti's Categorical Data Analysis, 2nd edition, is a current reference. The original work was by Shelby Haberman in a 1973 Biometrics paper, and Haberman also discusses various residuals in his 2 volume "Analysis of Qualitative Data."

Hi all!

Can anybody point me to a paper or similar that justifies the adjusted residuals that SPSS computes in crosstabs? I'm in need of an appropriate test, too.

Greetings Marc
