Subject: regression question
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Greetings all!!!

I am conducting a stepwise regression with 4 predictor variables. The correlation matrix indicates that there is at least one predictor which is significantly correlated with Y. Why then would I get no significant results in my stepwise? I assumed that the variable which shows a significant simple correlation with Y would enter in the first step but it is not. Thoughts or explanations? Thanks in advance
