Subject: running SAS 9 via ultraedit
Comments: To: sas-l@uga.edu

We are currently migrating to sas version 9. For years now SAS has resided on our individual programmer's desktops and we have used Ultraedit to edit programs and have configured a tool with the SAS line command to execute the command file open in the current edit window. This method has served us very well up to now. With version 9 of SAS, we will have to run SAS on a Windows 2k server with programmers submitting programs through an active desktop or some other method.

I was wondering if any of the readers know of a way to maintain our current modus operandi where we have an Ultraedit tool configured to submit a sas batch file on the server. I would like to keep editing programs locally (on my desktop, not through a remote desktop window), save the file to the server (as we currently do and will have to under the new version 9 regime), but execute the program on the server.

Thank you very much for any help you can provide in this matter.

John I.
