Ron,
I had a very senior IBM consultant tell me years ago that AIX was out and
Linux was in at IBM. Obviously, the money mattered more so the line has
changed.
Massively parallel computing (pick the O/S, I really don't care) served from
farms of computers is the future of what we used to term a MF. That's my
basic point. If AIX is the delivery mechanism, that's cool. I just don't
think 1 big box is the future.
