Dear SAS-L members,
The University of Louisville's Department of Epidemiology in the
School
of Public Health and Information Sciences is looking for a person with
Oracle, SAS, and STATA skills.
Below is the specification for the job:
Title:
Programmer Analyst IV
Requirements
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and
six years of related Computer experience. Additional experience may be
used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirements.
Salary commensurate with experience.
Position Description
This position is based primarily on funding available through NIH
grants and departmental funding. Responsibilities are focused on the
design, development, installation, maintenance and integration of
ORACLE
relational databases and associated forms and reports for detailed
tracking of research studies and projects and on the use of SAS and
STATA programs used for data management of complex analytical
databases.
Ability to design appropriate data models based on specific research
needs and to develop associated physical database structure that
integrates with existing or proposed database structures with
appropriate testing and documentation of computer programs.
At least six years previous experience with responsibility for ORACLE
server and with detailed and complex ORACLE programming, including
experience in migration of ORACLE databases, forms and reports from
earlier to more recent versions, with SAS and STATA programming as
well
as network data security, data encryption, and data recovery.
Previous
experience with data management for multiple users and facilities
sharing common data; with monitoring and management of database
backups;
with design and development of scheduled reports (including summaries,
statistics, electronic formatted forms, reports, and labels), data
dictionaries and procedures manuals; and with recording procedures
including the construction and maintenance of logs and journals.
Willingness to take continuing education classes in ORACLE, SAS, and
STATA. May assist with hiring, training and possible supervision of
other research programmers on-site and in a multi-site setting. Able
to
effectively communicate and problem solve with a diverse group of
researchers and to work independently in an effective manner.
Master's
degree preferred. Willingness to learn new programs.
