A WESTERN GREBE was sighted on Lake Walter F. George, Clay Co., on Wednesday, December 6. A RED-NECKED GREBE and EARED GREBES were also reported, from Lake Seminole (Seminole and Decatur Counties). The Western Grebe was seen from the dam. Lake Walter F. George lies on the Alabama/Georgia state line south of Columbus, GA. This is the first Western Grebe reported in many years and is a rare opportunity to see this species. A CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD has returned to a home in Decatur (DeKalb County) to the home of Patricia White. The same bird has returned for the last three years, and has been banded.
