I am sorry if this is not an appropriate question, but I need to ask it
anyway.
How long should I wait before I call a 'hummingbird' bander to my place? I
had one to appear for 3 days straight in November and I called the hotline,
but did not get a response. The hummer left for a few days and it is back
now and I have seen it at least 2-3 times each day since Dec 1st. I took a
photo and sent it to a good friend of mine and she responded with an answer,
'it appears that it has a band on its left leg'. Okay, today I got a good
look at the front side of it, but 'it' didn't stay in this position long
enough for me to reach for my digital camera. It would have been a '
perfect' picture, for an ID for sure!
I am not going to say what "I" think it is, because I could be mistaken.
Thanks,
Pat Sully
