Subject:   Difference between downame and weekday

This has already been discussed on the list (see, e.g.: http://listserv.uga.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind0501c&L=sas-l&D=0&P=228 ) but, as some (like me) may have missed it, can't hurt to repeat.

The DOWNAMEx. format translates dates to the correct name of the day of the week a date falls on (except for some pre 1800 dates), but will be one day off if applied to the results of a weekday function.
