Given that the event is at Disney, I would bet that weekend rates are MUCH more than weekday.

Hopefully someone on the SGF leadership cadre will give us the "offical
party line" answer to this question, but someone involved with the
event told me that one reason for the change was due in part to a
substantial cost savings if the start of the conference was moved from
Sunday night to Monday night.
I agree with Andrea's comments; but remember, this is no onger the "SAS
Users Group International" meeting, but the "SAS Global Forum" and one
of the aims, according to the SGF website, is to "expand the appeal" of
the event beyond its "traditional" base of attendees.
