Today was counting day!!
Box #1 (shallow end of pond) - Now has 16 eggs. This
definitely means that it is a dump box - being used by
more than one female. The eggs were fully covered with
down and looks as if "sitting" is about to occur.
Box #1 (on dock) - Now has 19 eggs. Not sure what is
going on here - must also be a dump "site". I thought
the earlier count of 17 was going to be the total because
the eggs were warm, covered and it appeared that the female had started sitting!!
(these numbers sure are going to be confusing to me
calculating "hatching date"!)
Still hoping someone will move in the new box on the dam.
