Subject:      E.L. Huie 3/11/07 - Tree Swallows and vultures

My wife and I birded E.L. Huie yesterday. There are still quite a few vultures hanging out at the ponds. We saw close to 30 Black Vultures sitting on one bank when we arrived. A group of three were in no hurry to get out of our way as we drove down the gravel road. We also saw 5-6 Turkey Vultures circling overhead. In addition to the vultures, we saw lots of Tree Swallows buzzing the ponds.

One other cool thing we saw was a Kingfisher beating his lunch into submission on a standpipe. I took some very low quality video of it and you can check it out here:
