Rough winged swallows were in the McIntosh Reserve Sunday, March 4th on the
river near the ovelook close to the old ranger station. American Pipits
were in the large open field between the river campsites and the swamp and
a Wilson's snipe was hanging around the swamp on the north side of the
large open field where the pipits were feeding. Saturday,Rusty blackbirds
were in the wetland on Kingsbridge Rd. adjacent the water treatment plant,
a pair of double crested cormorants were sitting on two steel posts near a
concrete platform near the dam but in the middle of the large plant holding
pond. The first time I have seen them in Carroll County. Ruddy ducks were
also near the same point in the holding pond. The holding pond can only be
accessed during the week and until noon on Saturday. had a great view of a
river otter eating a fish Sunday at the Kingsbridge Rd wetland.
