Subject: Blue-winged Warblers - Coosawattee WMA

I finally had an opportunity to check for Blue-winged Warblers in the Coosawttee WMA in southern Murray County. I hit the spot off of Cagle Rd that was the most concentrated area last May and June. I was glad to find at least four individuals(possibly five) singing along the WMA road. Only one was close enough to the road to see. It sang from the top of short pines the entire time I was there, moving from one to another. It sang at least 6-10 per minute.

Joshua Spence, Murray County
