Hi Stan,
it is an unfortunate issue, and has caused some issues for users I have been
involved with.
SSV however has a number of underlying issues to do with its US centricity,
one of these being the ability to set and retain paper sizes for the output
that are other than those you usually see. I have been raising concerns
with this since 1999 when the ISO page size A4 was a problem.
It is less of an issue for me now because a lot of users are moving to
Enterprise Guide and this provides a smaller footprint application for
viewing code, tables and catalogues. I still install it and use it, and
would prefer its issues were fixed, but recognise there may be other
priorities.
Kind regards
David

Subject: SAS viewer does not handle long format names
Hi, I discovered the hard way that SAS viewer does not handle long (>
8 char) format names. This is documented in SAS Note SN-014950.
Supposedly this will be fixed in a "future release". Could we as a
community make some noise about this? Many of our end users only need
to look at the contents of the datasets themselves, so this will be a
significant hardship to them.
TIA
Stanley Fogleman
