did you happen to have a second screen attached to your workstation? And move the window outside of screen #1's borders?

Anyway, here's something to experiment with:

Pressing ALT+SpaceBar displays the window control menu. Pressing M ('Move') lets you move the window around using the arrow keys. Move it right out of the visible screen area and press enter when done.

You will still see it in the task bar, you can maximize it but restoring it down makes it disappear again.

Now reverse the process. Verify that the missing windows' task bar icon is active and press ALT+SpaceBar. The window control menu will show up close to where the window "left" the visible screen area. Press M and use the arrow keys to bring the window back to its desired position and press enter when done.

Hope this helps. (Tested with the very same window I wrote this reply in. Tested with Win2k.)

Similar technique can be used to resize the window. Then it is ALT+SpaceBar followed by S ('Size').
