Donna,

Do they really need a second queue manager or a second INITQ with the CICS region?

Glenn

Glen,

We have a Web application and the programmers want a 2nd transaction to handle longer running transactions, so they want that transaction to point to a different queue manager.

Hi, All,

Has anybody gotten the IBM-supplied JCICS samples to work "as delivered" in CICS TS 3.2? So far, all I can get is abend AJ07 in JHE2, with the following in the dfhjvmerr log:

********************************* Top of Data ************************ java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: examples.HelloWorld.HelloCICSWorld =20 .at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:376) =20 .at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:570) =20 .at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:442) =20 .at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:502) =20 .at com.ibm.cics.server.Wrapper.callUserClass(Wrapper.java:704) =20 .at com.ibm.cics.server.Wrapper.main(Wrapper.java:1200) =20 .at com.ibm.cics.server.Wrapper.WrapperEntry(Wrapper.java:972) =20 Exception in thread "DFJ$JHE2.TASK63.JHE2" java.lang.Exception: AJ07 =20 .at com.ibm.cics.server.Wrapper.SetAbend(Native Method) =20 .at com.ibm.cics.server.Wrapper.callUserClass(Wrapper.java:815) =20 .at com.ibm.cics.server.Wrapper.main(Wrapper.java:1200) =20 .at com.ibm.cics.server.Wrapper.WrapperEntry(Wrapper.java:972) =20 ******************************** Bottom of Data **********************

I'm using the IBM-supplied resource definitions in group DFH$JVM:

OBJECT CHARACTERISTICS =20 CEDA View TRANSaction( JHE2 ) TRANSaction : JHE2 =20 Group : DFH$JVM =20 PROGram : DFJ$JHE2 [ remainder omitted]

OBJECT CHARACTERISTICS =20 CEDA View PROGram( DFJ$JHE2 ) PROGram : DFJ$JHE2 =20 Group : DFH$JVM =20 . . . JVM ATTRIBUTES =20 JVM : Yes No | Yes =20 JVMClass : examples.HelloWorld.HelloCICSWorld (Mixed Case) : =20 : =20 : =20 : =20 JVMProfile : DFHJVMPR =20 JAVA PROGRAM OBJECT ATTRIBUTES =20 Hotpool : No No | Yes =20

Also the unmodified DFHJVMPR in the default location /usr/lpp/cicsts/cicsts32/JVMProfiles, which is where the default DFHSIT says it is:

JVMPROFILEDIR /usr/lpp/cicsts/cicsts32/JVMProfiles <=3D=3D from = TMON/CICS

"Obviously", something's not right..... Ideas, anyone?

TIA,

-jc-

You would have to start up a second trigger monitor looking at the other initq, but that could not be done using the CICS SIT parms. Why would you need to do that? You could use Shared Queues and get the same effect.

Thanx,

JHE2 should be the same in cics 3.2 as in 3.1 (hopefully).

=20

Your CLASSPATH in the pofile DFHJVMPR has to point to the directory right before the examples directory referenced in JVMCLASS.

=20

=20

I have to check if they actually supplied the HelloCICSWorld class or if you have to compile it yourself so check if the class is actually in the examples directory.

Hi, All,=20

Has anybody gotten the IBM-supplied JCICS samples to work "as delivered" in CICS TS 3.2? So far, all I can get is abend AJ07 in JHE2, with the following in the dfhjvmerr log:

********************************* Top of Data ************************=20 java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: examples.HelloWorld.HelloCICSWorld =20 .at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:376) =20 .at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:570) =20 .at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:442) =20 .at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:502) =20 .at com.ibm.cics.server.Wrapper.callUserClass(Wrapper.java:704) =20 .at com.ibm.cics.server.Wrapper.main(Wrapper.java:1200) =20 .at com.ibm.cics.server.Wrapper.WrapperEntry(Wrapper.java:972) =20 Exception in thread "DFJ$JHE2.TASK63.JHE2" java.lang.Exception: AJ07 =20 .at com.ibm.cics.server.Wrapper.SetAbend(Native Method) =20 .at com.ibm.cics.server.Wrapper.callUserClass(Wrapper.java:815) =20 .at com.ibm.cics.server.Wrapper.main(Wrapper.java:1200) =20 .at com.ibm.cics.server.Wrapper.WrapperEntry(Wrapper.java:972) =20 ******************************** Bottom of Data **********************=20

I'm using the IBM-supplied resource definitions in group DFH$JVM:=20

OBJECT CHARACTERISTICS =20 CEDA View TRANSaction( JHE2 )=20 TRANSaction : JHE2 =20 Group : DFH$JVM =20 PROGram : DFJ$JHE2=20 [ remainder omitted]=20

Also the unmodified DFHJVMPR in the default location /usr/lpp/cicsts/cicsts32/JVMProfiles, which is where the default DFHSIT says it is:

JVMPROFILEDIR /usr/lpp/cicsts/cicsts32/JVMProfiles <=3D=3D from = TMON/CICS

"Obviously", something's not right..... Ideas, anyone?=20

Amazing how things "jump out" right after a holler for help. =20 What I had was: =20 #CLASSPATH_SUFFIX=3D/usr/lpp/cicsts/cicsts32/samples/dfjcics =20 Note that I had simply forgotten to "un-comment" that line...... They work, now. =20 -jc-

Hi, All,=20

Has anybody gotten the IBM-supplied JCICS samples to work "as delivered" in CICS TS 3.2? So far, all I can get is abend AJ07 in JHE2, with the following in the dfhjvmerr log:

********************************* Top of Data ************************=20 java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: examples.HelloWorld.HelloCICSWorld =20 .at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:376)

******************************** Bottom of Data **********************=20

I'm using the IBM-supplied resource definitions in group DFH$JVM:=20

OBJECT CHARACTERISTICS =20 CEDA View TRANSaction( JHE2 )=20 TRANSaction : JHE2 =20 Group : DFH$JVM =20 PROGram : DFJ$JHE2=20 [ remainder omitted]=20

Also the unmodified DFHJVMPR in the default location /usr/lpp/cicsts/cicsts32/JVMProfiles, which is where the default DFHSIT says it is:

JVMPROFILEDIR /usr/lpp/cicsts/cicsts32/JVMProfiles <=3D=3D from TMON/CICS=20

"Obviously", something's not right..... Ideas, anyone?=20

Yep, did all that following the doc in the "Java Applications in CICS" manual. Only overlooked one "minor" detail: Forgot to "un-comment" the CLASSPATH_SUFFIX line (ISPF Edit along with "cut 'n' paste" makes things "too easy") in DFHJVMPR. :-o =20 =20 -jc- =20

Donna,

No, even if you were to try to start another adapter, there'd be no way to tell transactions which manager to use as you don't code a connect statement in them.

Is there a way to have a CICS region connect to more than one MQ Queue Manager?

We have a NEW requirement "Open for Discussion" Requirement#: SSCICS07009 Title: Need to override ENDPOINT in a WSDL file Description: We have a need to override the ENDPOINT of a Web Service. Currently we are using CICS to be a Web Service requestor and we have many test servers with a different ENDPOINT for each one. Now we run DFHWS2LS once for each test server which takes an awful lot of cpu. We think that there should be a way at the system level to override the ENDPOINT. Benefit: It would be nice to have one WSDL file and one WSBIND file for all test environments and production. Also this would help not having to run DFHWS2LS once for each test server in our shop.

The following requirement is NOW "Open for Voting" Requirement#: SSCICS07007 Title: Display Maintenance Level of CICS Description: Display Maintenance Level of CICS (Either by a Put level of RSU) Benefit: This would safe alot of time when researching problems or reviewing CICS regions for Fixes

The following requirement has been submitted to the Vendor (IBM) Requirement#: SSCICS07006 Title: Add remote sysid to transaction inquiry via CEMT Description: When displaying transactions via CEMT add the REMOTESYSTEM NAME to the display. Benefit: This will show where a transaction is being routed to, instead of looking in CEDA to see what the transaction definition has coded for the remote system name.

To access SHARE requirements: please logon to www.share.org/Reqs4Logon.cfm <outbind://10/www.share.org/Reqs4Logon.cfm> using your SHARE UserName and your share.org password.
