Subject: Q: Response Times using Self-Paced e-Learning

Hi all I just passed the Base Programmer Certification for which I prepared using the self-paced e-learning. The quality of this training was very convincing and I'm thinking about going for the Advanced Programmer as well. Having had years of experience in using SAS (also with a longer break now) the Base training was mostly repetition and preparation for the way the exam questions are asked - was good though that I did the training! Some of the questions are pretty tricky.

The downside of this web-training were the response times for requesting a new page. This took sometimes up to a minute!! I ended up doing 4 training sessions in parallel using tabbed browsing. Not ideal! This "multitasking" was kind of exhausting.

I'm wondering now what experiences you made! Are the response times a general issue or do I have to check my side of the chain (I'm living in Sydney, have broadband and other sites work fine).

Is the quality of the self-paced e-learning for the Advanced Programmer as good as the Base one?

Please tell me your experiences.

Patrick
