Here at home we saw our first Eastern Kingbird tonight. We've been having 2
male Indigo Buntings singing in the yard. Last weekend I heard the
Yellow-billed Cuckoo again.
A story from Destin: we had seen several Loggerhead Shrike on the golf
courses and I was watching one in our yard spreading its wings and flying back
and forth from the small tree above it. I thought it was a fledgling. Then I
spotted a snake under the tree! I went outside to check out the snake -
very dark with a blunt nose. Husband joined me - neither of us had ever seen
this snake. Suddenly it flared up like a Cobra - wow! It was a Hognose snake
