Jeff Buescher and I birded Altamaha WMA, Jekyll island, Gould's inlet, and
Andrew's island Yesterday. We ended up with 71 species. Highlights were:
Altamaha WMA:
Least bittern
Black crowned night heron
Glossy ibis
Black bellied whistling duck
Mottled duck- lifer
American coot
Bald eagle
Black necked stilt
Gull billed tern
Orchard oriole
Jekyll island:
Wood stork
Wilson's plover
Ruddy turnstone
Red knot
Sanderling
Great black backed gull
Gray kingbird
Painted bunting
Andrew's island:
Clapper rail- flushed right by our feet
King rail- seen on a mudflat
