I would think that if you are want to collect data into a SAS data set or otherwise edit data in a SAS data set that the non macro WINDOW/DISPLAY statements would be preferred to the macro versions of these statements.

I would search a www.lexjansen.com for applications and other info on simple data entry "systems".
