hi ... have you tried ...
table ... / sparse out=.. ;
for example ...
proc freq data=sashelp.class;
table sex*age / sparse out=t;
proc transpose data=t out=tt (drop=_:) prefix=age;
proc print data=tt;
will have a zero count for 16 year old females (none in the data set)
