Hi GA birders,
Despite the beautiful leaf colors, it felt like a North Woods springtime today up in the GA mountains. At Anna Ruby Falls, a Winter Wren was unleashing song after bubbly song; later in the afternoon along the Wagon Train Trail at Brasstown Bald, Ruffed Grouse were drumming away at close range. Also at Brasstown, a couple Pine Siskins flew by dispensing cheery call notes, and an occasional Raven croak on and off throughout the afternoon finally materialized into an actual viewable bird soaring almost motionless high over the summit observation area before rolling steeply and acrobatically down below the treeline.
Good birding,
Joel McNeal
