For those who might be willing to consider a Python solution, there is a Codebook extension command available at http://www.spss.com/devcentral/index.cfm?pg=downloadDet&dId=80

For those who have SPSS 17, there is a new Codebook command.

Not that I can see Gene. It used to display variables' name and label, and under that, the values and value labels for each of the variables. A very handy "codebook".

I think I tried all variations of the "display" command in the help section and I could not get the display the old way with value labels under the variable names and labels. Bummer.

I tried it in version 14 and 16. I don't know why they would have changed the format. I'll be interested if anyone comes up witht he old way. Cheers, Necia
