Subject: Common goldeneyes at Arrowhead

Ladies and Gents,
Birded Arrowhead (Floyd county) this afternoon and had 33 species, the only
unusual one being two female common goldeneyes. This is the first time I've
recorded this species at Arrowhead. The goldeneyes were diving in company with
a male hooded merganser in the recently filled "big lake" on the north side of
the property. There were also about twenty ring-necked ducks, a great blue
heron, and 13 Canada geese in and around this lake.
