Paul,

You will need one of the SAS/Access products to connect and read Oracle tables. There are three SAS products that can handle this for you. They are: SAS/Access to ODBC, SAS/Access to Ole DB, and SAS Access to Oracle.

Fwiw, WPS has the ODBC interface as part of the base package and not an extra charge.

Hello All,

I recently moved from a large company that had SAS with all the bells and whistles. The new company is about to get SAS, they are planning on getting SAS/BASE. I need to be sure that I will be able to access Oracle databases with this product.

I am familliar with using the PROC SQL step and connecting to Oracle (not ODBC). Will I be able to continue this practice with the stripped down version of SAS?

Thanks, Paul Lambson
