Adam,
We use Remote Desktop Connection to allow access to individual PCs from
remote (within the building and outside the building) machines.
I am able to log in from home (where I do not have SAS) and get to my PC
at work (which does have SAS). I am also able to log on to another
machine at my company and connect to my PC to run things.
I don't know much technical detail about the software, but I'm sure you
can research it online.

Subject: Remote Execution of a Macro
Hello,
We utilize roaming profiles at my work and there are 4 machines that I
use
on a regular basis which are all part of our local network (windows
server
2003). We currently license SAS for just one machine (my main desktop),
but
the SAS installation does not roam with my profile since it is local to
just
the one machine.
There is a macro I use frequently which outputs a csv file to our shared
file server (all necessary files for the macro to run are located on the
same machine as our SAS installation). I'm often away from my main desk
and
would like to execute the macro when I'm at another computer (that does
not
have SAS installed locally). Can anyone tell me if this is possible
with
BASE SAS?
Purchasing additional licenses is not practical, since this essentially
comes down to a convenience issue. A server installation is also not
necessary since I am the only SAS user in our company.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Adam
