Hi GABO,
Thanks so much for all the CERW reports. I believe we are now at 8 of
the 10 harvest treatments on Ivy log with Ceruleans sighted this year, a
real home run! None of the controls seem to have any and I haven't
heard of any along Cooper's Creek/Duncan Ridge with birds....yet.
Charlie asked if there was any other info that'd we need. So far in the
reports folks have been really good about saying which treatment
(indicated by the little number plaques on hanging on trees at the site)
or by GPS coordinates, getting that info is critical. One other aspect
of great interest is whether females or young are sighted. So far we
haven't had such a report but that's no surprise. Since they don't sing
(and are basically green!) they are very hard to see. If you are
birding up on Ivylog and are in one of the cuts, take a little extra
time and see if you can find a female or young.
Thanks a bunch!
Nathan Klaus
